Following are highlights of activities being conducted within Guruguha group of instititutions.
1. Sri Purandaradasa, Sri Thyagaraja and Sri Muthuswami Dikshitar Aaradhana Mahothsava are being conducted.every year since 1982 on a grand scale across all branches of Mahaviyalaya. 2. Organizing state level youth music conference. 3. Shri Guruguha Ganasabha has been organizing monthly music concerts. 4. Organizing music competitions, excursions and useful programs for students by Vidyaarthi Balaga. 5. Since 1982, organizing workshops on Mutthuswami Dikshitar’s Nottuswara, Navavarna kriti, Sri Purandaradasa Devaranama, Navaratna Maalika, Sri Thyagaraja Ghanaraga pancharatna, Narada pancharatna, Utsava Sampradaya kriti. Till date, more than 650 students have been trained. 6. For the past 7 years, it has been organizing free workshops of daasa sankeerthana and has been training over 1000 women every year. |
7. “Gruha Sangeetha Kutcheri” – an experimental special program of conducting music concerts in houses of music lovers on special occasions.
8. Shri Guruguha Sangeetha Bharathi, a platform integrating Hindustani and Karnatic classical music lovers, has been organizing music concerts based on same raga in both styles on consecutive days.
9. Has been conducting Veena sapthaaha, a week long Veena festival for the past 6 years.
10. Karnataka Sangeetha Anthyaakshari and Rasaprashne (Quiz).
11. Since 1998, has been conducting morning programme In DhanurMaasa every year.
12. Awarding “Guruguha Personality of the Month” for a resource person in Shimoga.The event involves discussions, interactions with the chosen person before the felicitation ceremony.
